Lifestyle Merchandising
as a Method of Branding/Marketing

A method of branding commonly used by lifestyle brands, more specifically streetwear brands, is lifestyle merchandising.

As lifestyle brands aim to create a way of life desirable to their target audience, one way of achieving this is through branding items you would use in everyday life. This results in the consumer subconsciously thinking about the brand even when they don't realise it.

This has come in a whole variety of different forms from a number of different brands...

Supreme

Supreme are very well known for having branded some very obscure lifestyle items, some of which hardly make any sense to sell and yet due to their committed followers, they are bought and for a lot of money.

These have included: a skate board cased in a Louis Vuitton trunk, Supreme Nunchucks and even a brick.



Bape

Similarly, bape have produced a series of branded lifestyle items that literally cover every aspect of a consumers life.

This has included toilet paper, fishing hooks and condoms
